GeMusik – Setelah merilis dua single masing-masing “Help” dan “Crooked Teeth“, grup rock modern Papa Roach berencana melepas album kesepuluh pada 19 Mei mendatang. Album yang diberi judul “Crooked Teeth” ini diproduksi oleh Eleven Seven Music dan diproduseri oleh pendatang baru yakni, Nicolas ‘RAS’ Furlong dan Colin Brittain.
Album yang berisi 10 lagu ini bakal dijual dalam dalam format digital, CD dan juga vinyl. “Help” ternyata mendapat respon positif di kalangan pecinta musik. Single itu berhasil menjadi lagu yang paling banyak diputar secara streaming dengan total 4 juta pendengar.
Kesuksesan tersebut tak lepas dari peran Furlong dan Colin yang meminta kepada para personel Papa Roach agar menghidupkan kembali ciri khas yang menjadi kekuatan band tersebut sehingga lagu-lagu mereka bisa meledak di pasaran.
Vokalis Papa Roach, Jacoby Shaddix, mengatakan, sebelum album ini dirilis, ia bersama dengan Furlong dan Collin berdiskusi mengenai musik untuk materi album terbaru, sehingga didapatlah ide untuk kembali memainkan musik seperti pada album Infest yang dirilis pada tahun 2000.
“Colin dan Furlong mengatakan jika mereka sangat mengagumi album tersebut dan memberi saran serta masukan agar gairah dan corak bermusik album Infest kembali digelorakan pada album baru kami,” kata Shaddix sebagaimana dikutip dari Metatalk.
Ia menambahkan seluruh materi yang ada dalam album ini mengingatkan Papa Roach pada musik periode awal yang mereka mainkan sebelum akhirnya masuk dapur rekaman. “Ketika saya ada di ruang rekaman yang ada di benak saya adalah betapa aku sangat suka bermain musik bersama dengan para personel lainnya dan tidak berpikir membuat lagu untuk membuat orang lain terkesan,” urainya.
Sementara itu Furlong menambahkan jika ide besar yang ada dalam album ini mengambil elemen klasik yang ada dalam corak bermusik Papa Roach kemudian mengubahnya menjadi lebih modern dengan sound yang lebih berbeda dan proses kreatif di dalamnya. “Akhirnya dihasilkanlah album Papa Roach yang lebih berani dan berwarna,” kata Furlong.
